YMS hockey teams skating strong

YORK - The York Middle School Ingals Division team tied 3-3 with a very speedy Scarborough Team in its most recent game.

Tanner Robinson led all scorers with one goal and an assist; Jared Clausen and Wesley Warner each contributed a goal, while Alec Jordan and Connor Banfield fed their teammates with an assist each.

Both teams were sent to the penalty box four times in this closely played game.

Dylan McShera, Eric Warner and Sean McKenna proved to be a scrappy line while Mitch Fleri and Evan Hoatson anchored another tough line.

Defensively, Alex Janetti, Andrew Lusty and Sammy Stocks played in front of a very tough Derrick Johnson in the goal.

In another recent game, York skated to an 8-0 victory over Westbrook in the Southern Maine Middle School Hockey League Ingals Division.

Jared Posternak posted the shutout in goal behind the defensive efforts of Alex Janetti, Sammy Stocks, Andrew Lusty and Alec Jordan.

Wesley Warner led all scores with four goals, Jackson Mitchell scored one and had two assists, Banfield scored twice and McKenna added another.

McShera, Eric Warner and Mitch Fleri provided strong offensive performances to round out the team effort.

On Nov. 26, the York Middle School Hawkins Division team played against Mt Ararat.

Anthony Figlioli led a 10-0 victory with four goals two assists, and Craig Decato and Christian Going added two goals and one assist each.

Shane Hughes and Tyler Lewis had a goal each and George Lindbom and Arran Maran had one assist each. Alex Ahrikenchikh had his second shutout of the season in the victory. Thomas Cifrino and Kyle Robinson played strong defense in the win.

In another recent Hawkins Division game, York skated to a 6-0 victory over Lewiston.

York was led by Zach Franklin with three goals, Decato with one goal and one assist and Dillon Dellapasqua and Figlioli with two assists each.

Ahrikenchikh had a shutout with strong defensive play from Robinson, Maran, Lindbom and Cifrino.
