Start to "Imagine Your Future" this week
YORK - York Adult and Community Education is offering a series of free workshops called "Imagine your Future" on different career exploration and college planning topics geared toward the needs of adults and non-traditional learners.The following workshops will be offered in the upcoming weeks. All events will last between one and one-and-a-half hours and will be held at York Middle School unless otherwise noted
"Essentials of College Planning" is today, Wednesday, Dec. 13, at 6 p.m. and features everything you need to know about planning for college. Tina MacDonald from the Maine Educational Opportunity Center (MEOC) will tell you all you need to know to get started and answer your questions - even the ones you didn't know you had!
"Show me the Money" is set for Wednesday, Dec. 20, 5:30 p.m. Do you think college is out of reach financially? Think again. Finance Authority of Maine (FAME) will show you how to apply for financial aid, find scholarships and get help along the way.
During "Is there Life after Graduation?" on Jan. 10 at 6 p.m., recent graduates from York Adult and Community Education will share their experiences in college and answer your questions about what it's really like to apply to college, take classes, pay for college and more.
York County Community College (YCCC) Info Night at YACE will be held on Jan. 24 at 6 p.m. An admissions representative from YCCC will walk you through the admissions process and answer your questions about the best college deal in Maine. YCCC offers accessible, low cost degree and certificate programs in business, culinary arts, liberal studies and more.
