Oakhurst announces eggnog fundraiser for the Salvation Army
YORK - This holiday season, you can help those in need by choosing Oakhurst for your holiday eggnog. For the seventh year in a row, Oakhurst Dairy has pledged that it will donate five cents to the Salvation Army for every eggnog purchase. Last year, donations totaled close to $25,000.
"It's one of the ways we are able to give back to the community each year," said Bill Bennett, vice president of Oakhurst Dairy. "We're pleased that when people gather with family and friends to drink eggnog over the holidays, they can feel good that a portion of their purchase will go to help those in need."
Each holiday season, Oakhurst contributes a portion of its eggnog sales to help fund the holiday programs of the Salvation Army of Northern New England, which last year provided food, clothing and other assistance to over 78,000 individuals across Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. This year, donations will also be made to the Salvation Army in Massachusetts.
Oakhurst Dairy is Northern New England's largest family-owned, independent dairy company.
