Town employees, volunteers honored in Ogunquit

By C. Ayn Douglass

OGUNQUIT - Approximately 150 people attended a two-hour luncheon to honor town employees, committee members and volunteers at the Dunaway Center last Tuesday, Dec. 12.

Public Works Director Jon Webber was awarded a gold watch - but not a Rolex, according to JoAnne Metz, administrative assistant.

"We don't have that kind of a budget," Metz said.

Webber received the watch for 30 years of service to the town. Engraved on the back of the watch is the inscription, "1976-2006 Thanks for the memories."

The luncheon featured food prepared by local restaurateur Jackie Bevins, her crew and many volunteers.
