Lock your car, no matter where
you are
By Jennifer L. Saunders
YORK - Local police are cautioning residents to be sure to leave their vehicles locked and keep valuables out of their cars as reports of break-ins continue to be filed with the York Police Department.Sgt. Gary Finley confirmed last week that although charges were filed in a recent rash of vehicle break-ins, reports continue to surface of cars being ransacked when left unlocked and unattended.
He said residents should use caution and, even when parked in their own yards, should take the extra moment to lock their vehicles to prevent such occurrences.
Recently, Finley said, the incidents appear to be cases where the individual or individuals involved go through the vehicles and take whatever they can find of value.
The York Police Department has urged residents, as a precaution, not to leave items of value in their vehicles.
