Safe Haven Humane Society of Wells joins Petfinder.com

WELLS - Safe Haven Humane Society has recently joined other animal welfare organizations in the area who list their homeless pets on Petfinder.com, the oldest and largest database of adoptable animals on the Internet.

The site currently has over 200,000 homeless pets listed, and it is updated continuously. More than 10,000 animal welfare organizations in the U.S., Canada, and beyond post their pets on Petfinder.com.

Safe Haven Humane Society pets can be viewed at http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/ME69.html.

Safe Haven is a "no kill" group rescuing, rehabilitating, fostering and arranging permanent homes for abandoned and overlooked animals in southern York County. The mission of Safe Haven Humane Society is to provide a safe environment for animals in need so that they experience compassion and healing and find freedom from suffering, according to Safe Haven's website. Volunteers for Safe Haven provide home environments for these orphaned animals to receive loving care and the socialization they need to be ready to enter into their new family life once they are adopted out.

Any volunteer interested in becoming a foster family to one of Safe Haven's homeless animals is urged to contact the organization to learn more about training and qualifications.

It is ranked 124th on the Internet for number of page views, is the largest pet site on the Web and includes not only adoptable pets, but a large library of pet related information, message boards, and more.

Purina is the site's premier sponsor. Other exclusive sponsors are The Animal Rescue Site, BISSELL Homecare, Inc., PETCO and Merial.
