Ida returns to town with her new show
Longing for tips on how to run a successful yard sale? Susan Poulin tells hilariously how it's done in "Ida's Havin' a Yard Sale" to be performed at the Dunaway Center on School Street on Jan. 13.

OGUNQUIT - Susan Poulin, also known as Ida: Woman Who Runs with the Moose, returns to town with her latest theatrical piece, "Ida's Havin' a Yard Sale" on Saturday evening, Jan. 13.
Set to begin at 7:30 p.m., this event is sure to bring fun, good cheer and an opportunity to pick up a bargain. In honor of this production, Ogunquit Performing Arts is having a yard sale at the Dunaway Center. Those who bring an item for this yard sale will get a $3 discount on the $15 price of admission to the play. There's one discount per theatergoer, but several items may be donated.
Ida will impress the audience with her knowledge of things free and her ability to catalog all items of dubious value and desirability. And she will bring us up-to-date on the latest adventures of the Women Who Runs with the Moose.
Poulin was selected by Portland Magazine as one of the "Ten Most Intriguing People in Maine." A Maine native, she has been a featured performer at the Women's Performance Festival at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston, Mass., The Maine Festival and the Minneapolis Fringe Theater Festival. She was voted Contemporary Story Champion at the First Annual Yankee Yams Contest in Keene, N.H., and has twice been selected as a New Hampshire State Council of the Arts Individual Artistic Fellowship Finalist.
In 2005, Poulin received the N.H. Council on the Arts Traditional Arts Apprenticeship grant to study traditional Franco-American music with master artist Lucie Therrien.
Her essays have been heard on Maine and New Hampshire Public Radio.
For an evening of bargain shopping and hilarious theatre, mark Jan. 13 on your calendar as a very special must-do at the Dunaway Center. Tickets are $15 or $12 per person with a contribution for the yard sale.
