L. Dorothy Churchill
YORK - L. Dorothy (Pennell) Churchill, 90, of 26 Long Sands Road, died Dec. 24, 2006, at home with family.Born in Beverly, Mass., on July 25, 1916, she was the daughter of Warren Pennell and Elizabeth M. (Modest) Phinney. She grew up in Danvers, Mass., and was a longtime resident of Middleton, Mass., where she owned and operated Dots Lunch.
After their retirement in 1983, she and her husband of sixty years, Eugene E. Churchill, enjoyed several years in Hudson, Fla. She moved to York, in 1998 to be closer to family. She celebrated her 90th birthday at the York Senior Center in July of this year and will always be remembered for all the love and joy she gave to her family and friends.
She leaves two daughters, Judith M. Johnson and her husband, Walter A. Johnson, of Danvers, Mass., and Bonnie A. Bemis and her husband, Claude E. Bemis, of York; a son, Dale E. Churchill and his wife, Barbara J. Churchill, of Danvers, Mass.; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, a niece and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene E. Churchill, and her son, Roger W. Churchill.
Services are private. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery, Middleton, Mass. Funeral arrangements by Jones Rich & Hutchins, Portland.
