Support Herne Schools with breakfast on Saturday
YORK - Herne Schools of Discovery will be holding a pancake breakfast fundraiser at Applebee's in Portsmouth, N.H., on Jan. 20.Breakfast will be served from 8 to 10 a.m. as the restaurant has been opening its doors early on Saturday mornings for community nonprofit breakfast fundraisers. The breakfasts are a cooperative effort between the nonprofits and the restaurant, and duties are shared.
"Applebee's commitment to the local communities is admirable," said Cherie Herne, founder of the nonprofit school. And, she added, for just $5, you can get a great breakfast that you feel good about.
Herne Schools of Discovery is an alternative education facility located on Woodbridge Road offering yoga, sign language, Spanish, music and art, along with academic study, children in preschool through grade 2.
Tickets for the breakfast are available at the school, as well as at the door on Saturday. All are welcome and there will be free door prize drawings as part of the $5 breakfast ticket price.
