York girls' hockey falls to Fryeburg

YORK - Wildcats girls' ice hockey saw a potential win slip away on Saturday, Jan. 13, on the road against Fryeburg Academy.

York took a 3-1 lead into the third period on two goals by Lauren Coupal and one by Megan Yorke, but the momentum turned in the third period after Fryeburg took an injury timeout and immediately capitalized on the power play, closing the gap to 3-2.

Fryeburg then tied the game off of a rebound with 3:22 left to play and then sealed the victory with a 4-3 win on a breakaway with 42 seconds left in the game.

York had lost to Fryeburg 6 to 2 earlier in the season.

The three York goals were assisted by Nell Henderson-Brown, Yorke and Alex Haight.
