Boy Scout Eagle Project Food Drive this Saturday
YORK - York High School student Kevin Higgins has organized his Eagle Scout project, a community food drive, in an effort to support the York Food Pantry, and local residents are invited to help in the effort. In support of the York Food Pantry, Higgins explained, youth have traveled to several neighborhoods in town distributing flyers requesting the donation of one or more of the following items: cans of coffee, beef stew, tuna or pasta products.
Youth volunteers will be returning this Saturday morning, Jan. 20 or, in case of inclement weather, on Sunday, to collect any donations.
"Your support will be greatly appreciated," Higgins said in his announcement of Saturday's event.
In addition, if you would like to donate but did not receive a flyer, your donation can be dropped off at the York Food Pantry from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday.
