Old York Garden Club hosts visit with Rebecca Linney

YORK - Rebecca "Becky" Linney, renowned landscape designer, will be at an Old York Garden Club event next month to speak on "The ABCs of Garden Design."

The public is invited to join the Old York Garden Club for its next meeting on Feb. 14 at 1 p.m. at the First Parish Church Fellowship Hall on York Street, where Linney will be the guest speaker. The program is free.

Among her many achievements, Linney is a National Garden Club Master Judge, holds a certificate in landscape design from the Radcliffe horticulture program, is a winner of the Al Dwight Black Lifetime Achievement Award, the Garden Club Federation of Maine Second Vice-President and has designed landscapes from Kittery to Rangeley for both private and public projects.

Her Cape Neddick home is in the middle of the family wholesale nursery and her gardens are her outdoor studio.

At the Feb. 14 event, Linney will outline the basics for landscaping specific areas of a yard to maximize impact.
