Maine's attorney general to keynote library's second annual preschool fair this Saturday

YORK VILLAGE - Families with preschooler need go no farther than the York Public Library this weekend to learn about the many educational and recreational opportunities available in York and its surrounding communities.

At the library this Saturday, Jan. 27, from 10 a.m. to noon, many local providers of programs for toddlers and preschool-age children will gather to demonstrate the wealth of resources they have to offer.

Participating preschools and day care facilities are Kid Junction Day Care, Our School Nursery School, Learning Tree, York Child Care Center 2, Elemen-Tree House LLC, Herne School of Discovery, Temple Israel Kechavim Preschool, Jack and Jill Nursery School, Great Beginnings LLC, Brixham Montessori Friends School and Tidewater School.

Other enrichment programs and resources for parents and families include Child Light Yoga, Music Together of York County, Young Maine Readers, Mrs. Murphy's Kitchen, Dance Street Studios, The Family Resource Center, Making Music, Families Together, Yoga On York, Seacoast Science Center, Tiny Hands Talking, Young at Art, Seacoast Family YMCA, Triple G Farm, Village Elementary School and the Child Abuse Prevention Council.

The morning will include a visit from Maine Attorney General Stephen Rowe, who will keynote the fair at 10:15 a.m. with a discussion of "The Importance of Preschool."

There will also be music and yoga demonstrations and activities as well.

Many participants have donated memberships, classes and gift items for a raffle to benefit the library's Children's Room. These include family memberships to the Seacoast Science Center and the Seacoast Family YMCA; cooking, music and yoga classes; nursery school and program scholarships and many other items.
