Annual Student Art Exhibit opens at the library Jan. 31

YORK VILLAGE - Students in all grades of the York Schools will display their artwork in the annual Student Art Exhibit at the York Public Library, beginning on Wednesday, Jan. 31, and continuing through Friday, March 23.

In this always-popular show, the artwork covers a wide variety of subjects and media. More than 100 pieces, both two- and three-dimensional, will hang throughout the library.

Art teachers Mary Zane of Coastal Ridge School; Althea Woolf of Village Elementary School; Vicky Morgan, Sadie Shaffer and Diane McHenry of York Middle School, and Gary Phipps, Maureen Maloney and Beth Nowers of York High School will display examples of their students' work over the academic year so far.

The library will host a reception for the students on Friday, Feb. 2, from 4:30 to 7 p.m., and Director Robert Waldman will present certificates to the participating students.
