Girls' ice shuts out Deering, falls to Cheverus

YORK - The girls' ice hockey team routed Deering High School, 10-0, on Thursday, Jan. 25.

The goal scorers were Katherine Lindbom with two, Lauren Coupal, Megan Yorke with two, Alex Haight, Alex Banfield, Kelly Landry, Nell Henderson-Brown and Ali DiElsi.

The assists came from Katherine Hird, Christina Keroack with two, Coupal with two, Linnie Blais, Kelsey Cruz, Haight and Natalie Kaknes.

Kacey Coffenbury recorded the shutout in goal.

On Saturday, Jan. 27, York hosted Cheverus High School in an exhibition game and lost 4 to 1.

York spotted Cheverus four goals in the first period and then held them scoreless in the final two periods.

Ashley Taylor scored the lone York girl in the second period.

York girls' junior varsity ice hockey played the Cheverus JV team.

Sara Hanlon scored with less than a minute to play to give York a 1-1 tie against Cheverus JV.

Megan Baker and Linnie Blais assisted on the goal.
