"We finished fourth as a team with 120 points, behind Class C Lisbon, Class B Mountain Valley and team champion Class C Dirigo.
York had three finalists. Reaha Goyetche won the championship at 103 pounds and was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Wrestler.
Billy Gauthier also won a championship at 112 pounds and Ray Gauthier was the runner-up at 171 pounds.
Nick Mercurio placed third at 189 pounds and Gene Jones placed third at 215 pounds.
Tom Ciampa took fourth at 135 pounds and Dan Towers took fourth at 140 pounds.
Thompson and fellow Coach Wally Caldwell were named Mid-State League Conference Co-Coaches of the Year.
Wildcats wrestling will now head to Mountain Valley High School in Rumford this Saturday, Feb.3, for the Western Class B Regional Championships.
"York hopes to improve on its regional team runner-up placing last year with a regional championship, but needs to keep pace with defending champion Mountain Valley to do so," Thompson said.
