YORK VILLAGE - Ballet New England and the Center for Dance Education will bring the next presentation of their 2007 Children's Series, "Snow White," to town on Sunday, Feb. 11.

The event will be held at 2 p.m. at the York High School auditorium.

This 40-minute family ballet tells the tale of Snow White and the spell that is placed upon her when she takes a bite from an apple given to her by the evil Queen.

Choreographed by Angela V. Carter, the performance features members from Ballet New England's professional company as well as students from its Center for Dance Education.

A brief question-and-answer period will follow the performance along with the opportunity for audience members to meet and take photos with the characters.

In addition to the performance, BNE will offer a one-hour workshop prior to the performance for children ages 6 and up. This workshop will introduce children to basic choreography and emphasize creative expression through movement and imagery.

Participants within this workshop will have the opportunity to be part of the opening portion of the "Snow White" presentation that day.

Space for this workshop is limited and advance registration is required.

Tickets purchased in advance are $8 for adults and $6 for children and senior citizens. To purchase advance tickets or to register for the one-hour workshop, please call Ballet New England at (603) 430-9309. The fee is $20, which includes the workshop and a ticket to the performance.

Tickets purchased at the door on the day of the performance are $9 for adults and $7 for children and senior citizens.

Special discounts for groups of 15 or more are available upon request with advanced reservations. Seating for all performances is general, with doors opening 30 minutes prior to show time.

Ballet New England has studios located at the Connie Bean Community Center in Portsmouth, N.H., Centennial Hall in North Hampton, N.H., and Mill Pond Center for the Arts, Durham, N.H.
