Francis "Frank" Christian

YORK - Francis J. Christian, 87, of 6 Eureka Ave., died Friday, Feb. 2, 2007, in the Dover Rehabilitation and Living Center.

He was born in East Walpole, Mass., on March 10, 1919, son of Joseph and Anna (Boldon) Christian and had lived in Millis, Mass., for many years. He served in the Air Force for 21 years before retiring as a tech sergeant in 1968. He later worked for the U.S. Postal service in Portsmouth, N.H.

Frank was a world traveler. His travels took him to every country in the world except Australia and India. He met his wife Lee in Istanbul, Turkey, and they married in Germany in 1963. Together, they traveled across Europe in a VW Beetle. In 1966, their son Joseph was born in Africa and soon after the family moved to York. Frank and Lee spent the remaining 40 years of their marriage in York.

He was a member of St. Christopher's Church, the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion Post 6, the V.F.W., the D.A.V. and the Air Force Sergeants Association.

He leaves his wife of 44 years, Lee (Lefter) Christian, and his son, Joseph J. Christian and his fiancé, Darcy DiGiulio, of Manchester by the Sea, Mass.

Two brothers, William Christian and Tony Curpis, predeceased him.

The Funeral Mass for Mr. Christian was held on Monday, Feb. 5, in St. Christopher's Church. Calling hours were held in the Lucas and Eaton Funeral Home, www.lucaseatonfuneralhome.com.
