Planning Board schedules public hearing for Feb. 26

OGUNQUIT - The Planning Board met on Monday, Feb. 5, to schedule a public hearing for input on several proposed zoning warrant articles.They also added another article, bringing the total to 14. The last article is to make the notice period for public hearings consistent with state notice.
The 14 warrant articles do not include any changes to the controversial sections 3.5 and 9.8 of the zoning ordinance, which regulate expansion in hotel and motels. The inclusion of changes to these sections is seen as responsible for the voters' refusal to pass the warrant back in November.
In November, all ordinance changes were included in one warrant article while this time each proposed ordinance change has its own article that residents can vote on separately.
The public hearing on the 14 articles will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 26 at the Dunaway Center.
