Take the plunge for a good cause this Saturday
YORK BEACH - The weather outside may be making the Atlantic's waters anything but inviting, but for those hardy souls who dare, the Interact Club is offering a chance to get all wet for a good cause.This Saturday, Feb. 17, the York High School Interact Club will host its "Polar Dip" to benefit the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
The event will be held at noon in the icy waters off York Beach, across from The Inn at Long Sands.
"Interact Club members are currently getting pledges from sponsors that want them to hit the water in front of The Inn at Long Sands," explained Kevin Raymond, the group's advisor, in announcing this weekend's event.
Anyone who would like to make a donation may bring their contribution to York High School during regular school hours or come to the Polar Dip on Feb. 17. Checks should be made payable to: Interact Club-Polar Dip.
All are welcome to attend Saturday's event and to join the club in the Polar Dip.
