Howard Nyman
YORK - Howard "Kris" M. Nyman, 86, of 117 Long Sands Road, died peacefully in the Mark H. Wentworth Home in Portsmouth, N.H., on Monday, Feb. 12, 2007.He was born on Jan. 3, 1921, in Somerville, Mass., son of Edgar A. and Edna I. (Gurney) Nyman.
He leaves his wife of 37 years, Rose Mary (Cashman) (White) Nyman; his first wife, Hazel Sprague, and a son, Raymond Sprague, of Epsom, N.H.; a daughter, Karen Robson of Kentucky; a stepson, Martin White of Durham, N.H.; two stepdaughters, Mary Ellen Dunham of York and Patricia Zito of Swampscott, Mass.; a sister, Lois E. Brennan of Lynn, Mass.; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, nieces and nephews.
His second wife, Mary Ditmar; a son, Kris Sprague; two stepsons, Michael M. White and Kevin P. White, and a brother, Raymond Sprague, predeceased him.
He had worked at the Boston Naval Shipyard for many years and at General Electric Aircraft in Burlington, Mass. He will be especially missed by his best friend Holly, a Yorkshire terrier who accompanied him on daily visits to Dunkin Donuts for coffee.
A calling hour and funeral for Mr. Nyman was held on Feb. 17 in the Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home, www.lucaseatonfuneralhome.com, with burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody, Mass.
