Police arrest N.H. sex offender at York business

YORK - Local police arrested a man wanted in New Hampshire for failing to register as a sex offender.

David B. Hudson, 58, who is wanted for failing to register as a sex offender in New Hampshire, was charged after police were tipped off by a person who read about him in an area newspaper and saw him working at a local business.

Police charged Hudson, whose address is listed as 253B York St., with being a fugitive from justice at his place of employment on Route 1 on Saturday morning, Feb. 17. According to media reports, Hudson was convicted for the rape of a child in Massachusetts back in 1989.

Following his arrest this weekend, Hudson was brought to York County Jail in Alfred and was scheduled to go before a judge on Tuesday, Feb. 20, facing extradition to New Hampshire.

Failure to register as a sex offender in New Hampshire is a felony offense.
