Weeks have passed since Gov. John Baldacci first unveiled his Local Schools, Regional Support plan to Maine communities and school districts, but the passage of time is not making the plan any more palatable to local leaders. With the unexpected resignation of Selectman Torbert Macdonald, Jr., last week due to illness, discussions of the upcoming May election have come to the forefront in town. Although some major differences between the Budget Review Committee and the Board of Selectmen's recommendations could not be resolved, selectmen have finalized the budget for the April ballot.
