Clay Hill Farm's Irish Extravaganza Brunch is scheduled for this Sunday, March 4, from noon to 3 p.m.
As his website www.irishmusicguy.com notes, "Kevin plays a dozen instruments, knows 750-plus Irish songs, weaves an immense wealth of great stories, bad jokes, instrumental razzle-dazzle and a vast compendium of fascinating trivia into each performance."
A York resident, Farley has been a hit here in town and far beyond the town's borders.
"He moves with ease from the Celtic harp to the fiddle, pennywhistle and Irish drum as he explores the roots of Irish music. He plays a variety of styles on banjo and guitar as he traces the rise of the folk song tradition," Jim O'Shea is quoted as saying of Farley. "He plays accordion, piano, harmonica, and Irish bouzouki (a guitar-sized mandolin-type instrument) as he follows the tradition to the New World and demonstrates the wide range of its influence on American roots and folk music. He sheds new light on everything from the common threads linking the traditional and classical music forms to the often-surprising origins of popular Irish-American songs. And he does it all with such effortless good humor that you don't realize how much information he's packed in until it's all over and you finally have a moment to let it sink in."
Clay Hill Farm's Irish Brunch will include a multi-course menu and show, all for the price of $24 per person, plus tax and gratuity.
