Curves supports those in need with annual food drive

YORK - Curves of York will be participating in the Ninth Annual Curves Food Drive to benefit local food banks.

Last year, the Curves locations across the nation collected 11 million pounds of food for local communities all over the world.

Curves in Stratham, N.H., will also be participating in the event.

"The Curves Food Drive promotion is always exciting," said Tina and Rick Bach, owners of the York and Stratham clubs. "We have a chance to help so many people at a time when the food banks are lowest, while we assist more women in reaching their fitness and weight loss goals. It's a win-win situation for everyone, and we're very proud to participate."

To celebrate the generosity of the community, Curves is waiving its normal service fee for any new member who brings in a bag of nonperishable groceries and joins between March 1 and 10. Last year, more than 247,940 new members joined Curves during the food drive.

Other local residents wishing to donate may drop off nonperishable food items at York's Curves, Monday through Saturday, during business hours through the month of March.

With over 10,000 locations worldwide, Curves has been named the largest fitness franchise and the fastest growing franchise company in history.
