Calvert Leeman
CAPE NEDDICK - Calvert G. Leeman, 82, of 10 River Road, died, Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007, in the Harbor Home.He was born Feb. 22, 1924, in Portland, son of Calvert and Laverne (Dutton) Leeman. He graduated from York High School and was an Army veteran of World War II. He had worked for the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for 26 years before retiring in 1974.
He was a special policeman with the York Police Department and had worked during the summer months for many years. He was past commander of the American Legion Post 56 in York and had been a grand marshal for the Memorial Day Parade one year. He enjoyed fishing, bird watching and gardening.
He leaves his wife of 60 years, Marilyn (Chesney) Leeman; a nephew, Kevin Leeman and his wife Teresa Leeman of Georgetown, Mass.; a grandniece, Kristina Leeman, and two grandnephews, Eric Leeman and Thomas Leeman.
A graveside service for Mr. Leeman will be held in the First Parish Cemetery in the spring. There are no calling hours.
