Three vie for Board of Selectmen seat

OGUNQUIT - The deadline for filing with the town clerk has passed, and three candidates have stepped forward in the race for one position on the Board of Selectmen in the upcoming April election.Incumbent Vice Chairman John J. Abbott will face challengers Dr. Herbert Hoffman and Henry Hokans for the seat.
The candidates filed for the office by submitting nomination papers with the town clerk signed by at least 25 Ogunquit voters.
Members of the Board of Selectmen serve for three-year terms.
The election will be decided at the annual Town Meeting on April 1.
