The Music Scene...
Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with blues legend James Montgomery at Inn on the Blues this Saturday, March 17. Montgomery's inimitable harmonica playing makes him one of the most dynamic performers on the blues scene, and his gigs include recording with Kid Rock, sitting in with Gregg Allman and fronting his band of 30 years. While growing up in Detroit, he learned firsthand from master blues artists James Cotton, John Lee Hooker, and Jr. Wells at the legendary "Chessmate" club. Over the years, he's carried on the tradition, recording six albums and touring with many major artists, including Aerosmith, Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Springsteen, the Allman Brothers and Steve Miller. Montgomery's performance helps mark the reopening weekend of Inn on the Blues, which officially kicks off a new season of great live blues, jazz, rock, swing and more with the Joyce Andersen Band on Friday, March 16.
