York-Ogunquit Sports

LED TO VICTORY … by Coaches Patty Roche and Tom Simpson, the York Girls' Fifth-Grade Travel Basketball team beat the Wells Riptide team 23-21. As both teams exhibited determination and very strong playing skills, the game went into a riveting three-minute overtime. The girls had a great season culminating in two wins against Wells teams on Sunday, March 11, at Shapleigh Middle School and Marshwood Middle School. Sports Awards

The York High School 2007 Winter Sports Awards were held on Thursday evening, March 8, honoring this year's star athletes from basketball, hockey, cheering, wrestling and indoor track.

Track

Indoor track celebrated another successful season on Thursday, March 8, at the Sports Awards night at York High School.

Hockey

Last Tuesday, March 6, the 2007 Wildcat hockey team went where no other York High School hockey team has gone before: to the Western Maine Class B Finals at the Colissee in Lewiston. Following a regular season record of 12-4, the York Middle School team has advanced in the playoffs with a 2-1 victory over a stubborn Westbrook team.

Rugby

The Seacoast Rugby Club U19 boys' and girls' teams are looking for new players for the spring season.

Baseball/Softball
