Seacoast Rugby U19 teams seek players, begin practices

YORK - The Seacoast Rugby Club U19 boys' and girls' teams are looking for new players for the spring season.

No experience is necessary, and early-season practices are at no cost to the players.

The Seacoast Rugby Club, Inc,. is a nonprofit volunteer local sports club serving southern Maine, seacoast N.H., and northeastern Massachusetts.

The club was formed in Portsmouth, N.H., in 1998, and players come from across the tri-state region the club serves.

Seacoast Rugby teams play in the New England Rugby Football Union and the U19 teams accept players between the ages of 14 and 18.

The U19 season runs from early spring to early June, and the U19 playing season opens March 31.

Modest dues are collected from players who decide to join the program.

Interested players may just show up at a practice or may contact Youth Coordinator Bob Winchester at (603) 749-2392 or bob@222prop.com for more information.
