Tricky Trays are coming to town

YORK - The York High School Music Boosters have just the trick to make an early spring night a memorable one.

Once again this year, the boosters will be holding their Tricky Trays fundraiser this month.

On Friday, March 23, you'll want to be at the high school, where the Tricky Trays provide a fun way to go home with some pretty inventive and interesting things.

Each tray is piled with themed items, such as gardening supplies, movies passes, books, children's toys and games, artist supplies and much more.

One of the favorites in years past was "Andrew Jackson was Here" - a $20 bill on a tray.

Typically, more than 80 trays are displayed.

Those who attend the Tricky Tray event have the chance to purchase tickets and place them in a can in front of the tray. At the end of the evening, a winning ticket is selected for each tray.

There are also special prizes, including an iPod Shuffle, a Bailey Works book bag, a chair in the shape of a hand and several Coach items.

"This really is a very fun time for everyone in the community," said coordinator Laura Cleminson. "There are always some really spectacular trays, and some that are just handy to have. And on top of it all, you are giving to a good cause."

This is the major fundraiser for the YHS Music Boosters and proceeds go to support the band and choral programs at the high school, and to provide scholarships so that middle and high school students can attend summer music camps.

Tricky Trays will be held in the York High School Commons, beginning at 6:30 p.m. on March 23.
