Academic Notes

Scott DeRoche of York has been named to the Dean's List at the University of Vermont. DeRoche is a community and international development major and a junior at the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. To be named to the Dean's List, students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.

Fadheela Hasan of York has been named to the President's List at Bentley College in Waltham, Mass. Hasan has achieved extraordinary academic achievement in the fall 2006 semester as a junior majoring in management. To be named to the President's List, students must maintain a grade point average of 3.7 or higher with no course lower than a 3.0 during the term.

Bradley Lajoie of York, a computer science major, has been named to the fall 2006 semester Dean's List at Northeaster University in Boston, Mass. To achieve Dean's List distinction, a student must carry at least four courses and have a grade point average of at least 3.25. Lajoie has also been named to the honors program, a highly competitive program that allows students to further their studies and interests.

Caitlin Pierce of Cape Neddick has been named to the Dean's List for the 2006 fall semester at Champlain College in Burlington, Vt. To be named to the Dean's List, a student must achieve a semester grade point average of 3.5 and complete at least 12 credits of coursework.

Jacqueline Salvato of Moody has been named to the Dean's List for the 2006 fall semester at Champlain College in Burlington, Vt. To be named to the Dean's List, a student must achieve a semester grade point average of 3.5 and complete at least 12 credits of coursework.
