The Easter Bunny is returning to Clay Hill Farm

By Melissa Wood

CAPE NEDDICK - After a five-year hiatus, the Easter Bunny is returning to Clay Hill Farm for an old-fashioned egg hunt.

The bunny will arrive on Easter Sunday, April 8, at 4 p.m., and is sure to delight the community's children with the return of a tradition that used to bring carloads of eager egg-seekers to Clay Hill Farm year after year.

Then, rain, mud and cold temperatures kept the egg hunt from taking place three years in a row. Frustrated by the endless rain and tired of disappointing the children every year by canceling the egg-hunt, the bunny went into a temporary retirement.

But Clay Hill promises the bunny is back, thanks to letters from neighboring children begging his return.

This year, the Easter Bunny will return to Clay Hill Farm - rain or shine - to celebrate Easter Sunday.

Hundreds of candy-filled eggs will be hidden around the sprawling front lawn of Clay Hill Farm. Several special eggs will also have claim tickets in them for gifts and prizes donated by Revelations Gift Shop in Ogunquit.

The Easter Bunny will give out the prizes, with the help of some special friends.

Clay Hill Farm's free egg-hunt is designed for children ages 10 and under. Children must bring their own baskets or bags to collect the eggs and parents must accompany their children.

Clay Hill Farm will also be serving Easter Dinner on April 8 from noon to 5 p.m.
