Shirley Woodward
YORK - Shirley M. Woodward, 62, of 216 Route 103, died Friday, April 6, 2007, in York Hospital after a short battle with cancer.She was born Aug. 8, 1944, in York, daughter of Charles L. and Anna C. (Reardon) Balentine. She graduated from York High School and lived in York all her life. She worked as a patient account representative at York Hospital for 11 years and was a member of the Old York Historical Society.
Her husband of 41 years, Bruce R. Woodward, and a daughter, Tracy Woodward-Byrd, predeceased her.
She leaves two daughters, Penny-Jo Phillips and her husband Jay of Fremont, N.H., and Alison J. Thompson of Lee, N.H.; two brothers, Charles S. Balentine and his wife Barbara of York, and Gerald F. Balentine of Portsmouth, N.H.; a sister, Patricia A. Patstone and her husband Frank of York; one granddaughter, Olivia Mae Phillips, several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The graveside service for Shirley will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, in the First Parish Cemetery, York. There are no calling hours.
