Ogunquit town manager back on
the job
By Melissa Wood
OGUNQUIT - Just in time to deal with the aftermath of last week's Patriot's Day Nor'easter, Town Manager Phil Clark is back on the job full time.On Tuesday, April 17, Clark attended his first Board of Selectmen meeting since undergoing heart surgery in early February.
That meeting was quickly followed by Charter Review Commission and Marginal Way Committee meetings last week and a Transfer Station Committee meeting on Tuesday.
"I'm back into the swing of things," Clark said.
While Clark was recuperating, Loring DeAgazio filled in as interim town manager, stepping into the position on Feb. 5 and overseeing the town's budget process and April election.
Clark, who is also hard at work coordinating Ogunquit's efforts to clean up and repair damages from the Nor'easter, said he is glad to be back and called his work both exciting and stimulating.
"There was a question of whether I'd finally retire," he said, but added that he wasn't ready to do that yet. "I enjoy it very much. … A lot of good people in town, a lot of good people to work with."
Clark said his family ties to Ogunquit reach back 70 years, which may have something to do with his strong bond to the town.
"There's an attachment to the town that keeps me coming back," he said
