29th Annual Student Art Show at the Barn Gallery this weekend
A student views the work of her peers from area schools at a past exhibition at the Barn Gallery. This year, the Student Art Show will be held May 12 and 13 from 1 to 4 p.m. All are welcome to come and view the artistic talent of area students.

OGUNQUIT - Young artists from area schools will exhibit their artwork at the 29th Annual Student Art Show at the Barn Gallery this weekend.
The Barn Gallery is located on Bourne Lane at Shore Road. The show will be held this Saturday and Sunday, May 12 and 13, from 1 to 4 p.m. and is sponsored by the Ogunquit Women's Club
The exhibition opens with a reception for students, parents and friends on Friday, May 11, from 4 to 6 p.m.
Art teachers from schools in Wells, York, Berwick and South Berwick, as well as Berwick Academy and other schools, select individual and group student art projects for this show, which has become the traditional celebration of the year's work in area art classes.
For this event, the Barn Gallery is filled floor-to-ceiling with imaginative paintings, photographs, collages, prints, sculpture and mixed media pieces.
According to the event's organizers, the artistic energy and enthusiasm of the young artists shines forth in a variety of media and subjects.
"It's amazing how much art there is in this show and how good it is," said Betsy Anderson, manager of the Barn Gallery. "It's a double celebration for both the end of the school year and for Mother's Day. It's great to see the students' art projects showcased in Ogunquit's finest art gallery."
The Barn Gallery will open for the season on Wednesday, May 23, at 11 a.m.
