A BACK THAT'S STRONG. Dr. Jeff Donatello of York Chiropractic Health Center in Kittery, recently climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa. There, he donated his chiropractic services when the lead guide, 32-year-old Tanzanian native Ian Minja, told Donatello the back pain that came from sleeping in caves as a child and climbing the mountain to its summit 187 times made it seem his days of climbing were numbered. "He was as crooked as a candy cane and had never heard of chiropractic. I adjusted him and at least 10 of the porters every day. It was quite an experience," said Donatello, as some porters work only for tips and are forced to carry 60-pound packs on their heads. Donatello said he wanted to help because, as he put it, "it's a human rights violation, but in a poor country like Tanzania; they take any work they can get. They basically were sacrificing their bodies in order to work." For more, visit http://www.yorkchiropractic.com/.
