YORK VILLAGE - Celebrate Mother's Day with Old York and its Museum Shop this Saturday, May 12.

MOTHER'S DAY TEA

Join Old York for this delightful twist on our traditional holiday treat, just for mom, on May 12. Enjoy delicious homemade desserts, the tavern decorated with spring blossoms and fine silver and china sparkling from the candlelight from noon to 4:30 p.m. at Jefferds' Tavern. Admission is $10 per person, $8 for seniors age 65 and over and $5 for children age 6 and under. The price includes the choice of two desserts and tea. Reservations are strongly recommended and can be made by calling 363-4974.

MUSEUM SHOP SEASON OPENING

Stop by the shop to see the new season's inventory when it opens on May 12. While there, buy Mom a gift from the wide variety of unique offerings at the Museum Shop. Everything from books to fine décor, cards to jewelry can be found there. Members always receive a 10 percent discount and all proceeds benefit the Museums of Old York. The shop will be open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

GEORGE MARSHALL STORE GALLERY

The George Marshall Store Gallery features Momentum V in the Main Level Gallery. Al Jaeger/Ceramic Wallworks and Sculpture are featured in the Dock Level Gallery. The exhibitions run through June 3.

EMERSON-WILCOX LONG PARLOR GALLERY

Beginning in June, be a part of the Emerson-Wilcox Long Parlor Gallery Opening with "York, Its People and Its Fortunes, 1785-1830," an exhibition of the stories and possessions of York residents who lived during the "federal' period - a time of great promise, prosperity and growth that reached a high point in 1807 and declined rapidly when Jefferson's embargo devastated the New England and local economies. The exhibit runs June 9 through Oct. 6, Monday through Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. The opening reception will be held Friday evening, June 8, from 5 to 7 p.m.

OPENING DAY AND OLD FASHIONED SALE

On June 9, join Old York for a full day of family fun from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. - free for members! Meet the new Elizabeth Perkins Fellows, see the new exhibition in the Emerson-Wilcox House and tour the museum buildings and grounds in the morning. Enjoy a variety of items for sale at bargain prices including indoor and outdoor furniture, desks, chairs, tables, lamps, linens and decorative items on the front lawn of the First Parish Church Office on York Street from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., rain or shine.
