Oscar

Oscar

And the winner for "Best Breed Mix" is... Oscar! I will most likely not win an Oscar for my performance in any movies, but I am looking for a part in your home. I am a one-year-old neutered pit-bull and mastiff mix who was found as a stray! My breed mix makes me a dog that prefers to live in a cat-free home. I have been in some playgroups at the shelter and seem to get along well with some dogs after the proper introduction. Give me a tennis ball and that is all I need in life. Both my breeds are working breeds and are known for being very energetic. That is great for someone interested in working me in obedience or agility. Classes for both those activities are offered here at the shelter. Obedience classes are mandatory with my adoption. Because I am a larger dog, I would prefer to live with kids over 12 so I do not knock them over. I am not completely housetrained and will need your help with that. A regular schedule is usually all a dog needs, but the staff can answer any house training questions you have. Being on the streets has, in some small part, caused food to be very valuable to me. The staff can teach you a game to play with me called the Trade-Up Game, which will help with this. I need a family who is familiar with both my breed mixes and will make sure that I am the best representative possible by working me hard, whether jogging, obedience, agility or other high-level activity. I can't wait to go home.

Charlie

Charlie

Don't you think I did a good job posing for my pictures? Wouldn't you want a guy like me in your life? I know I would love to be a part of your life!! Hi there, my name is Charlie. I am a nine-year-old former stray from Springvale. Life on the street was no picnic; that is for sure. I really hated being out there all by myself. Now I'm crossing my paws that someone will fall in love with me. I am a laid-back sort of guy who enjoys nothing more than being petted. I love to be petted on my head and behind my ears! As you pet me, I will purr up a storm! I also enjoy cuddling. Do you like to cuddle? If you do, then we should get together! I am such an affectionate guy who wants nothing more than to fall in love. I have been at the shelter for a couple of months now but I have not been available for adoption as I have had some health issues to contend with. After many weeks and several visits to the vets I have been diagnosed with severe allergies. My condition appears to be improving and my doctors say I can have a chance at finding a new home - about time! My allergies will require monitoring, a strict prescription only diet and a very inexpensive medication, occasionally. Please stop by for a visit; I am currently residing as the shelter manager's assistant in her office, where I love to hide under blankets for long naps.

Everest

Everest

Wasn’t I just made for the runway? I’m Everest, a four-month-old, sweet white-with-black bunny mix. I, too, was abandoned here, and I'm looking for a home that would love a good bunny like me. I appear to be a bit skittish at first, but don't let it fool you — it takes me all of half a minute to get over my initial excitement. Once you hold me, and I know that you are gentle, we'll be hooked. Quick to get to know people, I like to be held, and I think I like these balls with bells... and definitely apples. Like most bunnies, I like to sniff and explore, I am very smart and I need a home that sees that I have such a nice personality. I wasn't born to be homeless. This is just part of my journey to get to you. Please come soon!
