Coastal Fitness hosting "Cardio for Kids" to benefit YEF on Saturday
YORK - Take a quick trip down to Kittery this weekend and help some local educators who will be working out at Coastal Fitness to raise funds for the York Education Foundation.
Mark DellaPasqua, owner of Coastal Fitness on the Route 1 Bypass in Kittery, who is a York resident and father of a Coastal Ridge Elementary School student, is hosting the event this Saturday, May 19, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
"Members and non-members alike will be working out to raise money for area schools via sponsorship pledges and all York participants are working out for the York Education Foundation," explained Jaime Bock of the York Education Foundation. "Coastal Fitness will match the first three schools to reach $1,000."
Bock said that several York parents, alumni and YEF board members will be working out along with several local educators including Eileen Brault, Andy Gray, Rich Johnston, Carrie Stearns and Kathy Welch to support the YEF effort.
"YEF is gearing up to give away another round of grants in June to York teachers, so the Cardio for Kids at Coastal Fitness is just one of our fundraising efforts this spring," Bock said.
