YCCC is area's FEMA Disaster Recovery Center

WELLS - Although the Patriots' Day nor'easter did not blast the cost of York with the same flooding that fell nearly one year earlier with the Mother's Day storm of 2006, help is available for those who sustained damage to their property as a result of the storm.

York County Community College is once again hosting a Disaster Recovery Center for those individuals and business owners affected by the storm and flooding.

Working with officials from the Maine Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the college will serve as a primary recovery center in southern Maine.

The FEMA mobile assistance van will be in York at the Grant House on May 31 and June 1 for those who have sustained private property damage.

The YCCC center will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Those affected by the disaster must first call FEMA at (800) 621-FEMA for more information.
