A recent article in American Libraries written by news anchor (journalist) Roger Mudd explains his decision to donate a collection of books to his college library. For the third year in a row, York Public Library and Stonewall Kitchen have teamed up to present the delicious community fundraiser known as "Food for Thought." The National Endowment for the Humanities recently announced it has awarded free copies of classic books to 2,000 public and school libraries across the nation, including the York Public Library. The Writers' Night series at the York Public Library will host two celebrated authors, Ann Beattie and Maine Poet Laureate Betsy Sholl, reading from their work and discussing their writing at a special event on Friday, June 1, at 7 p.m. Award-winning artist Richard Lethem will exhibit his paintings at the York Public Library from June 5 through Aug. 1 in a show entitled "This Shape We’re In."
