SANFORD - The newly formed Redskin Endowment Fund has been established by the Sanford Red & White Foundation, with the support of Sanford Institution for Savings.
The endowment fund was created to ensure that youth programs in the Sanford-Springvale area be able to continue for generations to come. This endowment will fund athletic, music, art and drama programs that would otherwise be charged to participants or be eliminated due to town budget cuts.
Mark Mickeriz, president and CEO of Sanford Institution for Savings (S.I.S), met with the Sanford Red and White Foundation to discuss the bank's participation.
"We realize the value of youth programs, and what they mean to the community, yet also understand that town budgets are being stretched," stated Mickeriz. "We applaud the Redskin Endowment Fund, and are pleased to play a part in allowing all youth this opportunity."
Understanding the vision of the foundation, S.I.S. has contributed $1,500 to the fund, and has set up the fund account where contributions can be made to the endowment.
Donations can be made at any of the eight S.I.S. banking locations, and all donations are tax deductible.
Donations may also be mailed to the Redskin Endowment Fund, c/o S.I.S., P.O. Box 472, Sanford, ME 04073.
S.I.S. is headquartered in downtown Sanford with branches located in Springvale, South Sanford, Limerick, Buxton, Waterboro, Wells and York.
The Bank can be reached at 1-888 BANK SIS (226-5747) or online at www.banksis.com.
