Wells-Ogunquit Adult Community Education honors graduations
Wells-Ogunquit Adult Community Education recognized 14 graduates earlier this month. Assistant Superintendent of Schools Ira Waltz and School Committee Chairman David Johnson presented diplomas to the seven graduates who were present, pictured here, who include Derek J. Bolz, Megan Kathryn Burch, Emma M. Dufort, Jordyn Johnson, Paul D. Kerivan, Meredith Lynn Lauzon and Ronald E. Wade.

OGUNQUIT - Family members, friends and supporters were on hand as Wells-Ogunquit Adult Community Education held its 2007 high school graduation ceremony on Tuesday, June 12, in the Wells High School Auditorium.
A total of 14 adults graduated from the program this year, receiving either a general equivalency diploma (GED) or high school diploma.
The graduates include Derek J. Bolz, Megan Kathryn Burch, Emma M. Dufort, Robyn E. Gudaitis, Jordyn Johnson, Paul D. Kerivan, Danielle J. Knight, Meredith Lynn Lauzon, Keith G. Marby, Nadine Mattigat, Brett R. Spicer and Ronald E. Wade.
Larinda Meade, director of employment services for the Maine Department of Labor and former Portland adult education director, was the graduation speaker and Wade was the student speaker.
Spicer, Marby and Kerivan received outstanding student achievement awards for achieving a perfect score on one of their individual GED exams. Knight received an outstanding student achievement award for earning an exceptional overall score on her GED. Scholarships for post-secondary education were awarded to Burch and Kerivan.
Mary Angelini, evening coordinator, presented each graduate with an organizer on behalf of the Wells-Ogunquit Adult Community Education program.
A reception in honor of the graduates was held in the cafeteria following the ceremony.
