AWS offers birthday party program for kids
KENNEBUNK - The Animal Welfare Society has announced the launch of its new Children's Birthday Party Program for children who love animals.
Children who sign up to have their birthday party at the shelter will get to choose from two different birthday packages.
The Awesome Birthday Party, priced at $150, includes a shelter tour with interaction with several animals; use of the education room for two hours for the birthday child and nine other children (adults come for free); an animal-related game; a craft for the children to take home and a picture of the birthday child with a favorite AWS shelter animal.
The Birthday Bonanza Party, priced at $200, includes everything in the Awesome Birthday Party plus a party favor bag for each child, an animal-themed gift for the birthday child and the chance for the child to name an AWS animal going up for adoption.
Up to five additional guests may be invited with a charge of $7 per child for the Awesome Party Package and $9 per child for the Birthday Bonanza.
Parents are responsible for providing the refreshments and cake for the children as well as all paper goods and utensils, and may have food delivered if they wish.
