In what has now become a tradition, York Middle School science teacher Jeff Wilford is back in Brazil, this time with nine local students spending 15 days volunteering their time to study the world’s largest wetland, the Pantanal. The York Beach Zoning Ordinance will not be included on the November ballot. For local residents and police alike, a state law commonly known as the “insurance cancellation notification law” was fast becoming the cause of a lot of stress.

Fireworks for the Fourth

July 4

A private fireworks display by The Reading Room will be visible from York Harbor Beach, beginning at 8:45 p.m. Rain date: July 5.

Fireworks will begin at dusk at Gooch’s Beach in Kennebunk. Rain date:
July 5.


July 6

Ogunquit’s fireworks display will be set off from a barge located near Main Beach at 9:30 p.m. Rain date: July 7.
