Bruno

Bruno

Do you love to laugh? Does the sound of a hound baying make you kick up your heels in glee? Then you must meet Bruno, an affectionate, sweet, darling, three-year-old male Redtick Coonhound. Transferred from an overcrowded shelter in Indiana, and then from the Animal Refuge League in Westbrook, Bruno loves to be the center of attention, have his long, velvety ears stroked and be told how handsome he is. Bruno pounces quickly to say hello and will often combine his excitement with a soulful bay. When left alone, Bruno is hilarious in his single-minded counter-surfing and interest in something in the cabinet. Bruno carries this perseverance to his intense interest in cats and squirrels. It will not be in the best interest of Bruno or residents cats/small animals for him to share a home with them. While Bruno appears to mean other creatures no harm, the volume of his bay is so loud it scares the daylights out of all but the bravest. Not yet sure how to play with toys, Bruno is learning, but he is much more interested in being with people. Bruno is interested in food, yet his attention span is fairly short, so fun training sessions are the name of the game. Like many hounds, Bruno is likely to love cuddling, finding a cozy spot on the couch and being inside with his family. Romps through woods, over hill and dale and along the beach will be great ways to exercise Bruno, but his recall off leash is not yet reliable. Bruno is silly and playful with most other dogs and he is still perfecting his housetraining. Bruno has been living the shelter life for many months and will need equal time to adjust to being part of a family. Meeting Bruno is a wonderful experience and those who adore the world of hounds will be head-over-heels for this lad.

Ferris

Ferris

Hey, hey, Ferris here! I’m a gorgeous six-year-old spayed female cat with varicolored, medium length, tortoiseshell hair. Just like my varicolored hair, I also have a variable personality! I can be a bit feisty, and then the sweetest girl you’ll ever meet. The shelter took me in because I was a stray in the town of Kennebunk. I’d like to be an indoor-only cat and would also prefer to be the one-and-only pet for you to love. My ideal home would be without small children or dogs. I am living in a community room with many cats here at the shelter and get along with them. I would be able to live in a home with calm and relaxed cats just fine. Older kids, like teenagers, would also be okay as they can understand that sometimes a cat just needs her space! Won’t you please open your heart and home to me? I’m here waiting for you!

Clarence

Clarence

Hi there! I’m Clarence and I’m a mixed-breed bunny. I was born here at the shelter. My Mom was abandoned outside the shelter in January. Right after she arrived she gave birth to me, plus my brothers and sisters. My brothers and sisters all have found their forever homes. Even my Mom has, too. I just don’t understand why nobody wants to make me their little boy. I’m very sweet and extremely friendly. I also love to play!! I have this toy that is shaped like a mouse that I just love to throw around. I like to eat timothy hay and just hang out. I need to find a home without any bunnies. You see, when I was born I was born with an upper respiratory virus that is contagious to other bunnies — but don’t worry; I’m healthy as can be. It seems that I am just a carrier of it. So that is why I need to be the only bunny. It is not contagious to other animals, just bunnies. Staff can explain it more in detail. What do you say? May I come live with you? I promise you won’t regret it. I’m a super, awesome, fun and just all around great bunny to have. I promise that I will love you unconditionally!
