York Police Department Incident Log

Sunday, July 1

1:29 p.m. A 2004 Volvo sedan operated by a 16-year-old Westwood, Mass., boy and owned by Michael Berry, 413 Far Reach Road, Westwood, Mass., and a 1999 Honda sedan operated by Ann S. Honnicutt, 76, 4815 Hidden Harbour Blvd., Fort Myers, Fla., were in collision while both were turning from Route 1 onto York Street. The Volvo received an estimated $4,000 in damages and the Honda received an estimated $3,000 in damages.

9:59 p.m. A 17-year-old boy from Bradford, Mass., was charged with administrative operating under the influence and a 16-year-old girl from Bradford, Mass., was charged with illegal possession of liquor by a minor after their vehicle was pulled over for traveling the wrong way on a one-way portion of Long Beach Avenue. The 17-year-old is scheduled to appear in York District Court Sept. 6, and the 16-year-old is scheduled to appear in York District Court Aug. 20.

Monday, July 2

9:04 a.m. A Kittery Point resident reported that a yellow, six-string mahalo instrument valued at $150 and a karaoke machine valued at $20 had been stolen from a backpack that he had stashed in the bushes when he was arrested last week.

12:20 p.m. A 2006 Ford sedan operated by James J. Cooper, 41, 342 Haley Road, Kittery Point, and a 2004 Chevrolet van operated by Kenneth Kozick, 52, 29 Shea St., Portsmouth, N.H., were in collision on Ocean Avenue. The Ford received an estimated $1,200 in damages, and the Chevrolet received an estimated $1,100 in damages.

2:10 p.m. A pickup truck operated by Antz Delva, 24, 79 Locust St., Danvers, Mass., owned by M.J. Murphy & Sons, Inc., of Dover, N.H., and a 2000 Ford sedan operated by Richard Lowery, 47, 133 Flint Path, Syracuse, N.Y., were in collision on Main Street. The truck reported no damages and the Ford received an estimated $1,200 in damages.

3:37 p.m. A 16-year-old girl from Peabody, Mass., was charged with shoplifting nine items valued at $24, including bumper stickers, rings and a necklace, from Whispering Sands Gift Shop on Main Street. She is scheduled to appear in York District Court Aug. 20.

3:40 p.m. A 15-year-old boy from Peabody, Mass., was charged with shoplifting a Beanie Baby valued at $5 and a wind chime valued at $5 from Joan's Beach & Gift on Main Street. He is scheduled to appear in York District Court Aug. 20.

9:04 p.m. A 17-year-old boy from Townsend, Mass., was charged with possession of a useable amount of marijuana and sale/use of drug paraphernalia at the rocks on Beach Street. He is scheduled to appear in York District Court Sept. 6. 

Tuesday, July 3

8:30 a.m. A 2007 GMC pickup truck operated by Jason Geshelin, 31, 78 King Road, Charlton, Mass., owned by Blackstone Productions of the same address, and a 2000 Honda sedan operated by Sara Reisz, 21, P.O. Box 785, Cape Neddick and owned by Melvin Reisz, of the same address, were in collision while both were traveling south on Route 1. Both vehicles received an estimated $1,000 in damages.

5:30 p.m. A 1995 Mercury van operated by Vicente O. Gonzalez, 48, 95 Scotland Bridge Road, York, owned by Dora Linares of the same address, and a 1999 Volkswagen station wagon operated by a 16-year-old Cape Neddick girl and owned by Lisa Depeter, 15 Triple Oaks, Cape Neddick, were in collision on Beech Ridge Road. The Mercury received an estimated $2,000 in damages and the Volkswagen received an estimated $5,000 in damages.

Thursday, July 5

12:27 a.m. John Potts, 37, 3 East Market St., Redhook, N.Y., was charged with aggravated assault on Railroad Avenue Extension for assaulting his girlfriend as they walked from a bar. He is scheduled to appear in York District Court July 25.

2:29 a.m. It was reported that three teenagers had tried to tip over a portable toilet at the Middle School on Organug Road, and then caused $200 in damage to the flag on the first green of the golf course at York Golf & Tennis Club.

12:39 p.m. Elisa Rivera, 28, 30 Neanda St., New Britain, Conn., was charged with possessing a useable amount of marijuana after the manager of a local hotel reported that the room she had been staying in was left extremely soiled and reeking of marijuana smoke. She is scheduled to appear in York District Court Sept. 6. 

12:43 p.m. A man reported a toolbox valued at $50 had been taken from his vehicle after it had been towed.

Friday, July 6

10:56 a.m. A 2002 Saab sedan operated by Kristen Marie McLane, 41, 15 Hillcrest Road, Goffstown, N.H., and a 2001 Dodge van operated by Frederic Latorella, 31, 14 Westley St., Winchester, Mass., were in collision on Route 1. The Saab received an estimated $5,000 in damages, and the Dodge received an estimated $3,500 in damages.

7:47 p.m. A 2004 motorcycle operated by Michael S. Fortier, 42, 23 Midwood Ave., Wolcutt, Conn., and a 2005 Nissan sedan operated by Enrico Domingo, 37, 123 Slade St., Belmont, Mass., owned by Antonietta R. Carboni of the same address, were in collision on Route 1. The motorcycle received an estimated $2,000 in damages, and the Nissan received an estimated $2,500 in damages.

11:24 p.m. Theodore Allan Rauh, 28, 12 Beech Tree Lane, East Dover, Vt., was charged with criminal mischief for smashing a railroad tie through the window of Hawaiian Jim's on Railroad Avenue, causing $500 in damages. He is scheduled to appear in York District Court Sept. 6. 

11:47 p.m. Three Massachusetts men were charged after a mailbox valued at $40 was stolen from a residence on Broadway. Michael E. Cahoon, 18, 78 Wesscroft Road, Reading, Mass., and Brendan M. Beucler, 18, 72 Cross St., Reading, Mass., were charged with criminal mischief and illegal possession of liquor by a minor. Michael M. Jangro, 18, 20 Emerald Drive, Reading, Mass., was charged with illegal possession of liquor by a minor. The men have agreed to reattach the mailbox. They are scheduled to appear in York District Court Sept. 6.

Saturday, July 7

8:36 a.m. A resident of Caincrest Drive reported the theft of prescription drugs valued at $150 as well as $150 in cash.

12:52 p.m. A York resident who had been parked on Church Street next to the York Beach Ball Field for about an hour reported that her windshield had been smashed causing an estimated $350 in damages.

1:36 p.m. Robert Crossley, 52, 40 Orchard St., Merrimac, Mass., was charged with criminal mischief after he got upset and threw a beach chair at a vehicle that was blocking his own while the driver was waiting for a parking space in the Short Sands parking lot.

3:25 p.m. A 2005 Toyota sport utility vehicle operated by Diane E. Hysler, 56, 40 Lobster Cove Road, York, and a 2003 Mazda sport utility vehicle operated by Laura A. Reilly-Messier, 36, 159 Walnut St., Naugatuck, Conn., were in collision in the Long Sands Plaza parking lot on Long Sands Road. The Toyota received an estimated $800 in damages, and the Mazda received an estimated $1,500 in damages.
