Charlie W. Turnbull

OGUNQUIT - Charlie W. Turnbull, 76, of 39 Seaview Ave., died Friday, July 13, 2007, in York Hospital.

He was born May 16, 1931, in York, son of Frederick and Doris (Penny) Turnbull. He served in the U.S. Army and worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for over 30 years.

He was a longtime member of the York Elks.

He leaves his wife of 46 years, Norma J. (Cantrell) Turnbull; two sons, Timothy C. Turnbull of Salt Lake City, Utah, and James T. Turnbull of Wells; two daughters, Heather A. Turnbull of York and Lauren Turnbull of Manchester, N.H., and six grandchildren, James T.C., Kristy, Gabin, Peter, Steven and Tyler.

A brother, Freeman Turnbull, predeceased him.

A graveside service for Mr. Turnbull will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, in Hillside Cemetery, North Berwick.
