Art Videos at the Gallery continues July 25
OGUNQUIT - Ogunquit Performing Arts and the Ogunquit Arts Collaborative continue the "Art Videos at the Gallery" series with the third film presentation, "Andy Goldsworthy - Rivers and Tides, Working with Time," on July 25.
The film follows the free-spirited Goldsworthy all over the world as he demonstrates and opens up about his unique creative process. Goldsworthy, who was born on July 26, 1956, is a British sculptor, photographer and environmentalist living in Scotland who produces site-specific sculpture and land art situated in natural and urban settings. His art involves both temporary and permanent sculptures that draw out the character of their environment.
From his long, winding rock walls and icicle sculptures to his interlocking leaf chains and multi-colored pools of flowers, Goldsworthy's painstakingly intricate masterpieces are made entirely of materials found in nature. The film, meanwhile, creates an experience that helps viewers appreciate nature in new and enchanting ways.
"Andy Goldsworthy - Rivers and Tides, Working with Time" will be shown at 7:30 p.m. at the Barn Gallery in Ogunquit. For more information, contact Ogunquit Performing Arts at 646-6170.
